John 21:1-6
Like the Last Supper, Jesus uses the setting of the simple meal on the shore of the Galilee in order that they might remember the things they were taught when they walked with Jesus. While Peter is instructed to “feed His sheep”, they might also have recalled that Jesus referred to himself as the “bread of life”. What are we feeding ourselves, and one another?

But his compassion also leads to others viewing him with distrust and fear. Might our compassion sometimes be viewed in the same way by others?.

Sometimes they are of our own making, and other times we just seem to find ourselves in the middle of circumstances we had nothing to do with. Today, we recall that Jesus had the power to simply halt the storms that seem to bombard us at times. But are we willing to humble ourselves and call upon Jesus when our way becomes troubled?

It is interesting that so much of what he did took place among the poor and disadvantaged. And we find that as people witnessed his power, they constantly brought others to him. Do we do the same today? Do we even feel as if we can? Is this what it means to follow the Way?
